ZIM Line, a global container shipping company, has announced that it will relaunch its ZEX (Zim eCommerce Xpress) route, an e-commerce shipping route connecting southern China and the West Coast of the United States. The first flight is expected to depart from Yantian Port in mainland China on November 22nd.
The ZEX service was first launched in 2020 to meet the growing needs of the e-commerce market. After the service is restored, the ports of call will be Xiamen Port (land) - Yantian Port (land) - Los Angeles Port (California, USA) - Xiamen Port, China.
ZIM President and CEO Eli Glickman said that by resuming the ZEX route, ZIM is once again practicing its core values of flexibility and enterprising spirit to respond to the rapidly changing shipping market needs and provide smart and fast solutions.
ZIM Line is currently ranked tenth in the world in terms of total transportation capacity, with a total of 125 ships (including eight owned ships and 117 chartered ships). Chartered ships account for 95.1% of ZIM's fleet.
